Weed Boom
The Weed Boom can be deployed as a permanent barrier to prevent the spread of algae and duckweed or used as an active method for its removal. They are easily set out in a semi-circle and gradually drawn to the bank side to allow the removal of unwanted algae and duck weed. The units can also be used from a boat to surround distant algae and weed rafts to allow removal
The boom comes as a 14.5m unit comprising of 16 floating sections stitched together, this enables it to flex and surround algae/duck weed for easier removal. Multiple booms can be bolted together to form large units for extensive waters. For large scale removal of algae and duck weed we would advise using a small machine with weed rake.
The standard boom sections are approximately 90cm in length and 20cm tall with about half sitting below the water line and half above. The lightweight stitched section design is very manageable, making for easy transport, storage as the unit can be folded and even deployed by one person.
