The Memorial Trout Lakes

Following extensive renovations to multiple historic lakes on the estate, the Memorial Fishing Lakes at Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire, are open to the public for trout fishing.

 

Originally conceived over 200 years ago by the country's greatest landscape architect, Capability Brown, his plans have been finally realised in line with the tercentenary of his birth.

The fishery is made up of two one acre lakes.

Membership is £350 per year.

Day Tickets are £25 and have a limit of 2 fish

Fish Stocks

This truly is a most stunning location to angle with Belvoir Castle as a back drop. The lakes have been stocked with Brown, Rainbow and Tiger Trout between 1.5 and 14lb.

Site Specific Rules

Fly fishing only

Catch and return is allowed if barbless hooks are used.

You must book in prior to fishing.

Fabulous days fishing 6 fish on the lower lake 5 on the upper lake all caught on a viva floating line 9ft leader very slow retrieve
First visit here stunning location will definitely be back

A good few hours with bright skies cool wind. No action on the top lake - suspect fish might have retreated to deeper waters
.Caught a 3lb ish rainbow very quickly on lower lake followed by numerous pulls and nudges but nothing more was going to 'stick'.
A good day on the bank and looking forward to doing it again.
